2022 has been an unbelievable year of change for me. It never fails to shock me how much I understand my grandmother’s sayings about time the older I get.
When I reflect on this year and prepare for new goals, I can’t help but be thankful for the small milestones that have taken place this year. Yes, there were upsets, but the amount of change that took place were more internal than external, which was a relief.
The greatest challenge for me this year was the decision to come out into the open about my diagnosis of Dissociative Identity Disorder on the Parker J. Cole Show this past June. The amount of support and encouragement that I received from fellow authors, my friends, family and strangers is still unbelievable to me. While being honest about my diagnosis puts me in a difficult place emotionally as I struggled with the bigger implications that could come of it, I wouldn’t change that decision in the least. It will take some navigating and probably a lot of tears as I learn new boundaries in this area, but I am excited about the new level of freedom and confidence revealing this secret has given me.
I am looking forward to more growth both personally and professionally over the next year, and I hope you choose to join me on my journey!
